Governor Ralph Northam issues stay-at-home order for Virginians
RICHMOND, Va. – Hours after a stay-at-home order was announced for Maryland, Governor Ralph Northam has announced the same for Virginia.
This order states that Virginians must stay home except for limited circumstances, such as traveling to and from work, seeking medical attention, obtaining goods and services, or engaging in outdoor activities. In addition, the state’s beaches are closed to sunbathing and swimming, but walking is permitted.
As of early Monday afternoon, Virginia had a total of 1,020 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Seven of those cases are on the Eastern Shore.
