First eight performers announced for 2020 National Folk Festival

SALISBURY, Md. – The National Folk Festival has announced the first eight performers that will be featured at this year’s festival.

These artists include:

  • Grupo Rebolú
  • Héctor Del Curto’s Tango Quartet
  • Petroloukas Halkias & Vasilis Kostas
  • Shemekia Copeland
  • Sri Lankan Dance Academy of NY
  • The Alt
  • Walter “Wolfman” Washington & the Roadmasters
  • Wylie & the Wild West

In addition, this year’s theme for the Maryland Folklife Area & Stage will be “Mountain Maryland”. This theme will explore western Maryland’s rich cultural landscape.

Approximately 350 artists, including musicians, dangers, storytellers, and craftspeople, will take part in the National Folk Festival, with more than 35 different musical groups performing on 7 outdoor stages throughout downtown Salisbury. More performers, as well as the full program for the Maryland Folklife Area & Stage will be announced throughout the spring and summer.
