Dorchester Co. Health Department announces first COVID-19 case

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – The Dorchester County Health Department announced the county’s first confirmed coronavirus case Tuesday morning.

According to the health department, the individual is a male in his 50s, who has been directed to self-isolate at home.

Officials say they are working to identify those who may have had contact with the person and advise them of any necessary actions to take. Information will be shared as soon as possible if any risk to the public is identified.

The Dorchester County Health Department’s coronavirus call center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and can be reached at 410-228-3223 for anyone with questions or concerns about the virus. After hours, callers may leave a message or call 2-1-1.
