Del. entertainer puts on a show outside nursing home
DELAWARE – A Delaware based DJ and entertainer recently put on a show for residents outside of a nursing home and it’s making a lot of people smile.
Sky Brady says he was asked to perform outside State Street Assisted Living in Dover on Monday because of guest restrictions due to the coronavirus. He sang classic songs like Hello Dolly, Ain’t We Got Fun and When You’re Smiling as well as hits from artists like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. Brady says he’s grateful he can still put a smile on people’s faces during this tough time.
“I was starting to get emotionally filled up during the concert because these people are up in the windows waving to me and clapping and dancing in the windows. And we’re not talking about spring chickens. We’re talking about people in their 80s and 90s and they really enjoyed the concert and it reciprocated.”
Brady says that he usually works with about 20 nursing homes but coronavirus restrictions have changed that and have also impacted the work he does for weddings or other events. Brady filmed his recent performance in Dover and posted it on Facebook and YouTube for other people and nursing homes to enjoy.
