Coronavirus making people stock up on items
MARYLAND–Some stores across Maryland are seeing their shelves get wiped out quickly, and that’d due to the coronavirus pandemic.
At ACME, many shelves are bare and the stores are filled with people.
Some shoppers told us they are loading up on supplies and food as a precaution.
“I probably wouldn’t have come today and bought toilet paper and paper towels if I didn’t see it on Facebook. I probably gave into a little bit of the chaos,” Caitlyn Feldcamp, a Delmarva resident, said.
“You cant get around, the lines are down the alley ways, I had other stuff I wanted to get, but I was like forget it I’m just going to either try another store or I’ll just try another day. So, I don’t think it’s worth it,” Artie Marinoni, a Delmarva resident, said.
“I think it’s a little bit crazy of course it’s definitely important to stay healthy and keep your loved ones healthy, but the reaction is just overwhelming,” Amanda Wilkinson, a Delmarva Resident, said.
To keep up with the crowds, ACME officials told us they are limiting the purchase of high demand items, like hand sanitizer and toilet paper.
