Christian Shelter accepting donations amid Coronavirus outbreak

SALISBURY, Md. – Shelters and donation centers throughout Salisbury are working hard everyday to keep people fed and sheltered during the Coronavirus outbreak.

One of those shelters, the Christian Shelter, says they’re still accepting donations of food and clothing to help out those in need during these tough times.

The shelter says they’re following normal hygiene procedures and asking anyone with any symptoms to not donate food or clothing.

But they say now is an important time to give resources to people who may be having a hard time getting through this outbreak.

“Because of the Coronavirus, life is going to be very interesting, so we want to make sure that we take the stress off of people because they might not be able to go to certain places, but they’ll be able to come here and receive clothing and so forth,” Anthony Dickerson, Executive Director of the shelter, said.

HALO in Salisbury, on the other hand, will stop accepting clothing donations at 5 p.m. on Monday and will not resume collecting donations until further notice.
