Chesapeake College switching to online instruction until further notice

WYE MILLS, Md. – Chesapeake College announced on Friday that they will transition to online instruction by March 30th in an effort to limit spread of the coronavirus.

Spring Break for students has been extended through March 27th. Beginning March 30th, the majority of coursework will be conducted remotely until further notice. Faculty will spend the next two weeks converting their classes to an online format. Employees will be working from home to continue the college’s essential services.

All athletic activities are suspended for the rest of the spring semester. All official out-of-state travel by faculty and staff is prohibited.

All public events at the college from now through April 30th are cancelled. All buildings on the Wye Mills campus and the Chesapeake College Cambridge Center are closed to the public until further notice. This closure includes the Todd Performing Arts Center, the Early Childhood Development Center, the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center, the Fitness Center, the Barnes and Noble bookstore on campus, and the Sodexo Cafe.

In addition, the Chesapeake College 2020 Commencement Ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, May 20th, will not take place on campus. The college may conduct a virtual event online instead.

Students are not allowed to visit campus until further notice.
