MARYLAND – Governor Larry Hogan and Maryland State Superintendent Karen Salmon announced on Wednesday that school closures statewide will be extended an additional four weeks due to the coronavirus outbreak.
As of now, schools are scheduled to remain closed through April 24th.
In addition, Hogan ordered anyone who has been to the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut) to quarantine for 14 days on return to Maryland.
He also announced in Wednesday’s press conference that he has submitted a request for a Presidential Disaster Declaration, in hopes to get federal money to help the state.
