Beebe suspending non-urgent diagnostic testing, physical rehab

LEWES, Del. – Beebe Healthcare is suspending all non-urgent diagnostic testing, physical rehab, and screenings, in an attempt to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

This includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cardiac rehab, and pulmonary rehab. All non-urgent outpatient diagnostic exams and services will be postponed for at least six weeks (May 4th), and officials will re-evaluate as we approach that date.

Patients affected will receive a call from their surgeon or provider regarding rescheduling. Urgent procedures and tests will still be provided, and will be held at Beebe Healthcare satellites and other health campuses, including the Rehoboth Health Campus, and Milton, Millsboro, Millville, and Georgetown satellite campuses.

At the Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus, no outpatient lab and diagnostic imaging will be performed. This includes non-urgent cardiac stress tests and vascular studies.

“We realize that this might be a hindrance for some, and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. But we feel that taking this precaution now in order to protect the safety of those in our facilities is our highest priority,” Beebe said in a statement.
