REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Rehoboth Beach Mayor Paul Kuhns announced Monday morning that he is ordering all non-essential businesses in the city to close at 4 p.m. today, March 23rd.

This is to take effect 16 hours before Governor Carney’s order declaring the same statewide beginning on Tuesday at 8 a.m. All non-essential businesses are to remain closed until May 15th or until the public health threat of COVID-19 has been eliminated.

In addition, all residents should shelter in place beginning at 4 p.m. today. Citizens may leave their homes to get groceries, pick up a prescription, see a doctor, and engage in other activities essential to their health and the health and wellbeing of their family members, including pets. Outdoor activities are allowed but must adhere to social distancing guidelines.

City of Rehoboth Beach buildings and officers are closed to the general public through May 15th. This includes City Hall, administrative offices, public works buildings, playgrounds, public restrooms, beach, and boardwalk.
