Wicomico County Executive diagnosed with liver cancer

SALISBURY, Md. – On Monday, Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver revealed that he is battling liver cancer.

The County Assistant Director of Administration Weston Young says Culver informed department heads on Thursday, last week, about his cancer diagnosis.

Young says the cancer has spread across 70 percent of Culver’s liver.

According to Young, Culver suffered serious symptoms like noticeable weight loss.

We are told the County Executive will be seeing doctors at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore within the next few days to get a better determination of the disease and what his course of treatment will be.

Young says Culver plans to continue working but may have to cut back his hours. However, county business will proceed as normal.

He says Culver needs a little less stress moving forward and that there are a lot of unknowns at this point.
