Wicomico Co. Schools announce Teacher of the Year semifinalists

SALISBURY, Md. – Wicomico County Public Schools announced that 25 educators throughout the county have been named semifinalists for the 2020 Teacher of the Year.

  • Charles H. Chipman Elementary: Susan Biddle, Kindergarten

  • Delmar Elementary: Katherine Diven, 4th Grade
  • East Salisbury Elementary: Breonna Hopkins, 3rd Grade
  • Fruitland Intermediate: Staci McGowan, Physical Education & Health
  • Fruitland Primary: Kellie Harvey, Music
  • Glen Avenue Elementary: Renee Peshoff, 2nd Grade
  • James M. Bennett High: Hemalatha Bhaskaran, Environmental Science

The annual Wicomico Teacher of the Year Banquet will be held at The Fountains in Salisbury on March 26th. Four finalists (one for each school level) will be announced, and from those four the new Teacher of the Year will be named.
