Vikings rebound from slow start, grab control of Bayside North
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Cambridge-South Dorchester now controls their own destiny in the Bayside North race following a 76-62 home win against Kent Island Tuesday night.
The Bucs punched Cambridge in the mouth early on, sprinting to an 11-0 lead. Cambridge responded with seven 3-pointers in the first half, and took a 31-30 lead into halftime.
Logan Middleton led the offensive attack out of the break with 9-third quarter points, as the Vikings extended their lead to 7 entering the fourth.
Cambridge began to eat away at the clock, holding the ball until the final seconds on the shot clock, but kept up their efficient scoring. The Vikings 23-point fourth quarter was their high scoring period.
Khalik Beasley led the Vikings with 20 points, Dajawan Jackson had 19 and Middleton added 18. Andy Van Wie led Kent Island with 15.
The pulls Cambridge into a tie at the top of the Bayside North standings. The Vikings own the tie-breaker, having swept the Bucs this season.
