SU lacrosse coasts past Lynchburg in their home opener

SALISBURY, Md.- With the 16-10 win over Lynchburg, the No. 1 ranked Salisbury Mens Lacrosse moves to 2-0 on the year.

Griffin Moroney got the scoring started with the two straight goals in the first two minutes of the game. Moroney and CSD grad Jarrett Bromwell each had two to end the first quarter as the Gulls led 4-2 headed to the second.

In the second quarter, the Hornets tied the game up at four with two goals from Nate Shafer but that sparked a 7-0 run by Salisbrury that carried into the third quarter. The run included five different Gulls as SU took the 11-4 lead with 11 minutes left in the third quarter.

Lynchburg was able to get on the board a few times and pull within six late in the third but SU extended their lead again and took a seven goal, 13-6 lead to end the third.

Salisbury put up three more goals in the fourth as they rolled past number #14 Lynchburg 16-10.
