Silent vigil organized to raise awareness for Old Mill Landing

FRANKFORD, Del. – Community activists are organizing a candlelight vigil as part of their protest against plans for construction at the Old Mill Landing area.

According to activists, archeologists have discovered Native American artifacts in the area.

Activists say they are concerned about the impact construction will have on the environmentally sensitive land.

“Adding more houses and especially at this density, is going to be drastically crucial to the environment and will definitely pose a threat to all of those different characteristics of the creek,” said B.B. Shamp.

The candlelight vigil will take place at 36341 Old Mill Bridge Road on Sunday at 5:30 PM. For more information about the event, click here.
