Pair arrested for robbery, assault in Easton

EASTON, Md. – Easton Police arrested two people on robbery and other related charges last weekend.

At around 1:15 p.m. Saturday, an Easton Police officer was in the area of Dover Street and Higgins Street when he was waved down by three people. When officers noticed he was out of breath and was bleeding around his mouth with marks on his face and neck.

Officers then learned that the victim was walking in the area of S. Higgins Street and South Lane when he saw a male, later identified as 66-year-old Jesse Williams, in the area. The victim said he stopped to talk to him and they began walking together. The victim then reportedly took out his wallet to give Williams some money, when another male, later identified as 24-year-old Michael Brown, appeared out of nowhere and took the wallet. The victim and suspects got into a scuffle, and the victim was held down as Brown took money out of the victim’s pocket.

Both suspects then fled the scene.

The pair were later arrested . Brown was charged with robbery, second degree assault, theft $1500 to $25000, false imprisonment, credit card theft, and conspiracy, and was held without bond.

Williams was charged with robbery, second degree assault, theft $100 to $1500, false imprisonment, and conspiracy, and was released on a $15,000 unsecured bond.
