Pa. man arrested on multiple charges following traffic stop in Seaford
SEAFORD, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Philadelphia man on multiple charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of weapons.
Shortly after 2 p.m. Monday, a trooper say a black Mercedes Benz driving above the posted speed limit northbound on Sussex Highway near Bethel Concord Road. The trooper stopped the vehicle and on contact with the driver and sole occupant, 39-year-old Wesley Bush Jr., an odor of marijuana was detected coming from within the car.
Bush was then found to be in possession of approximately 0.94 grams of marijuana, and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a semi automatic handgun and a 3″ blade knife. A computer check revealed that Bush was prohibited from possessing a firearm or deadly weapon, and the handgun he had was reported stolen out of Philadelphia, PA.
Bush was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, two counts of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, receiving a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana, and speeding.
He was held at SCI on $63,002 cash only bond.
