Harrington Police arrest man following domestic dispute

HARRINGTON, Del. – Harrington Police arrested a man for offensive touching Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly after 2 p.m., officers were called to a residence in the 100 block of West Mispillion Street for a report of a domestic dispute in progress. On arrival, police made contact with the adult female victim and 27-year-old Deshawn Benson.

Further investigation revealed that Benson and the victim had gotten into a verbal argument that turned physical when Benson reportedly began assaulting the victim, causing minor injuries.

Police learned through a computer check that Benson had an active capias out of Kent County for violation of probation. Benson was subsequently arrested and issued a $250 unsecured bond on the offensive touching charge, but was held at SCI on a $1,000 cash bond for violation of probation.
