Drug investigation leads to two arrests in Sussex Co.

LINCOLN, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested two people on Friday following an investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs.

We’re told the Delaware State Police Sussex Drug Unit received a number of complaints regrading the distribution of illegal drugs on Virginia Pine Road in Lincoln. Further investigation led police to learn that 35-year-old Richard White and 51-year-old Lee Lewis Sr were involved in this illegal drug distribution.

Following a two week long investigation, a search warrant was obtained and executed at a residence in the 8000 block of Virginia Pine Road. During the search, the following was seized:

  • Two handguns
  • Two 12 gauge shotgun
  • A 12 gauge shotgun with obliterated serial number
  • Various ammunition including 9mm rounds and 12 gauge shotgun shells
  • More than $4,400 in suspected drug money
  • Approximately .27 grams of crack cocaine
  • Various drug paraphernalia

Both men were taken into custody as a result.

White was charged with possession of weapon with obliterated serial number, three counts of possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited who also possesses controlled substance, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal nuisance. He was later released on his own recognizance.

Lewis was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and was held on $20,000 cash only bond.
