Dover overcomes late game scare against Woodbridge

DOVER. Del.- After being up thirteen at half time, Dover let up a late comeback to Woodbridge to only lead by four inside three minutes but the Senators held on to take it 78-71. With the win, the Senators improve to 17-1 on the year and the loss drops the Blue Raiders to 13-4.

The Blue Raiders kept it close in the first few minutes, tied it at six with 6:05 left in the first quarter. The Senators took control to end the first quarter and led 23-16 and led by as many as ten in the quarter. Dover pulled away even further at the break to lead 47-34.

In the second half, Dover came out a little sloppy and Woodbridge took adavantage. The Blue Raiders cut the lead to six with two minutes to play in the third behind a big third quarter from Rickey Kane and he continued his hot streak in the fourth for sixteen points in the second half. Woodbridge was able to pull within four inside three minutes but the Senators pulled away to hold on for the 78-71 win over Woodbridge.

Dover will look to continue their win streak next Tuesday when they host Sussex Tech at 7. The Blue Raiders return to action also next Tuesday when they host Seaford.
