Death Investigation underway in Laurel

LAUREL, Del. — Delaware State Police are investigating the death of a 25-year-old woman in Laurel.

According to police, the victim was found inside a home on North Central Avenue on Wednesday, after officers responded to the home for a report of a woman located deceased inside the residence.  The body of the deceased woman was found by family members, who responded to the residence to check on her welfare after not being able to make contact with her.

An autopsy will be performed on the deceased woman to determine the cause and manner of death. The victim’s name is being withheld at this time.

At the request of the Laurel Police Department, Delaware State Police has taken up the investigation.

The investigation is in it’s early stages with further information being released as it becomes available.
