Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence partners with Richard Allen Coalition
GEORGETOWN, Del. – Students in Delaware could soon have new summer class opportunities, and it’s all thanks to a new partnership between the Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence and the Richard Allen School.
The Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence isn’t expected to open until 2022, but they say by having a physical space now at the Richard Allen School, they hope to offer summer classes before then.
Alonna Berry, the founder of the School of Excellence, says the partnership also helps further the message of Bryan Stevenson, a social justice activist from Sussex County.
“The spirit of it is after our namesake Bryan Stevenson, and his theory on proximity,” Berry said. “If you go out into the community and see what’s happening, that you can learn from those experiences.”
Jane Hovington, the President of the Richard Allen Coalition, says she’s excited for the partnership because it will bring new life to a building that isn’t being used very often.
