56th Annual Salisbury Coin Club Show
SALISBURY, Md. – On Sunday, hundreds of people from across Delmarva came out to celebrate the 56th Annual Salisbury Coin Club Show.
The event took place at the Salisbury Moose Lodge #654.
Organizers say events like the Salisbury Coin Club Show help people learn more about the history of coins.
Some of the coins at the event dated back to the 1700s.
According to Harry DiPalma, a Salisbury Coin Club member, some coins are worth thousands of dollars and have captivated the attention of many people across the country.
“It brings people together actually and it’s artistry as far as coins go,” said DiPalma.
“It’s just history that we have in our country that a lot of people don’t realize even. You know? Why were the coins changed? There’s stories behind every one of them,” said DiPalma.
DiPalma says the Salisbury Coin Club is also hoping to get more people to join. Club members meet the fourth Wednesday of every month at the American Legion Wicomico Post 64 at 7:30 PM.
