Traffic stop leads to two arrests in Ellendale
ELLENDALE, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested two Ellendale residents on drug charges following a traffic stop Tuesday morning.
According to police, a vehicle was stopped at around 11:45 a.m. after it was seen traveling above the posted speed limit on southbound DuPont Highway. While the trooper was obtaining information from the driver, 51-year-old Kimberly Micciche, she appeared to be extremely nervous and had a difficult time locating the proper paperwork. When the trooper asked the passenger, 20-year-old Ryan Nicholson for identification, a small plastic wrapper with a white powdery residue was seen sticking out of his wallet.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of approximately 0.09 grams of crack cocaine, several amphetamine and dextroamphetamine pills, and drug paraphernalia. Micciche was also found to be in possession of approximately 1.98 grams of crack cocaine and more than $900 in suspected drug money.
Micciche was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, conspiracy second degree, two counts of possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to have insurance identification, speeding, and tinted material on the front windshield. She was released on her own recognizance.
Nicholson was charged with tampering with physical evidence, conspiracy second degree, possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also released on his own recognizance.
