Tilghman man arrested on burglary charges

TILGHMAN, Md. – A Talbot County man is behind bars after he reportedly burglarized a Tilghman residence.

Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 5600 block of Leeward Lane for a report of a burglary in progress. Police were able to obtain video surveillance footage and identified the suspect as 29-year-old Kevin Hamilton Manning. After learning that Manning fled the victim’s residence on foot, deputies requested the assistance of the Easton Police Department K-9 Unit to complete a K-9 track for the suspect.

Manning was located a short time later in the 21000 block of Sinclair Avenue and was taken into custody.

Further investigation revealed that the day prior, Manning tried to break into the same residence, but was unsuccessful. He was also linked to another burglary that happened on January 14th, at a residence in the 21000 block of Seth Avenue, after a search and seizure warrant was obtained and executed at a residence in the 21000 block of Phillips Road.

Manning was charged with attempted first degree burglary, attempted third degree burglary, second degree burglary, three counts of fourth degree burglary, rogue and vagabond, and violation of the Maryland Sex Offender Registry. He was held without bond pending a bail review at the Talbot County District Court.
