Police investigating shooting that left one injured
DELMAR, Del. — Delaware State Police are currently assisting the Delmar Police Department in investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday evening.
According to authorities, just after 8:30 PM, the Delmar Police Department responded to the 11000 block of Buckingham Drive for reports of someone being shot. Police say the victim, a 56-year-old woman, was about to walk into her home, when she was shot by rounds of bullets.
Delmar Police requested the assistance of the Delaware State Police. Police say they’ve collected one projectile from the front porch of the residence and another projectile is known to have entered the residence from the direction of the roadway.
The victim, who has yet to be identified, sustained two non-life threatening gunshot wounds and was transported to a local area hospital.
At this time, there is no suspect information.
