Salisbury Pier 1 Imports closing its doors

SALISBURY, Md. – In Maryland, another store is closing its doors at Pier 1 Imports.

On Saturday, the store posted signs that they were closing. Posted signs say all items will sell for 20 to 40 percent off.

Company representatives did not say when the location will close.

47ABC reached out to Jennifer Reeder a spokesperson for Pier 1 for comments, but we have yet to hear back.

“It’s sad that they’re going to close because then you’ll have another empty building sitting,” said Jennifer Holland, a Stockton resident.

“That’s one less store in the mall, and we already lost what Sears and JCPenny, so it’s kind of sad and I hope it’s not a sign of more to come,” said Holland.

The retailer has announced that it plans to close up to 450 of their stores.
