Salisbury Boscov’s getting face lift, celebrating 30 years
SALISBURY, Md. – One major retailer is celebrating 30 years in the Salisbury community by announcing some major upgrades.
Jim Boscov, the CEO and Chairman of Boscov’s, was at the mall on Wednesday sharing plans for the building. Boscov says a new expansion was recently added to the side of the building, creating another almost 15-hundred square feet. Sections of the store are now undergoing renovations to give the entire space a face lift. Boscov says all of this work will help them stay relevant because most of their customers still prefer to shop in store.
“We do a fair amount of business online but we also feel that we are very proud of the fact that we’ve got a brick and mortar increase in every store every year because that’s that person to person experience that’s very hard to replicate online,” says Jim Boscov, the CEO and Chairman of Boscov’s.
Officials say the store won’t close during construction. They’ll renovate different sections at a time so that customers can continue to shop there. The ten million dollar renovation to Boscov’s should be done this fall. Once complete, they’ll host a grand re-opening of the store.
