Portion of Route 1 in Frederica closed due to overturned tractor trailer

FREDERICA, Del. – Delaware State Police are on scene of an overturned tractor trailer in Frederica.

We’re told the incident happened at around 1:15 p.m. A tractor trailer carrying chicken for Perdue reportedly overturned in the southbound lane of Route 1 near Frederica Road. We’re told the driver is okay and has been taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Route 1 southbound at N. Frederica (Exit 86) is closed at this time. Motorists will experience delays in the area and should seek alternate routes of travel.
