New soul food restaurant in business

CAMBRIDGE, MD– A new restaurant has opened up in Cambridge and it’s already extremely popular.

Porter’s Soul Food has been very busy since they opened January 9th.

The owners told 47ABC that they were both on board with going into the restaurant business, saying they wanted to share their passion for food with the community.

Since opening, they have had days where there were lines out the door.

They said their popularity so far has been overwhelming, but they look forward to expanding their restaurant into something bigger.

“The day that we opened up my heart jumped from here up to my neck like uh oh this is getting ready to happen now,” Elder Rod Porter, owner, said.

“Not only stopping here, but we’re looking forward to expanding,” Pastor Cynthia Porter, owner, said.

The owners told us that when they opened they sold out three days in a row– making them have to close early.

Since then, they have learned to keep their coolers stocked with food.
