New program helping those with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia
SALISBURY, Md.- The MAC Center took another step forward in helping out those who have Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.
On Monday, the MAC Center launched a new adult day care program called Life Bridges. Right now the program is only being offered at the MAC Center’s Salisbury location.
The program offers specially designed activities that will help keep members active and involved.
We’re told one of the main goals of this program is to provide members with a safe atmosphere where there is an activity for everyone.
“Our goal here for this program is to provide a safe, secure environment where they can be with other people and they can enjoy themselves and have good quality of life,” Carol Zimmerman, Project Director of Life Bridges, said.
Right now, the program has ten members in it, but they can accept up to 16.
The Life Bridges program is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., but they will soon be expanding their hours to 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
If you would like to volunteer or know someone who would benefit from Life Bridges, you can call 410-742-0505 for more information.
