Maryland man offers free self-defense classes
SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man is on a mission to help people of all ages who are being bullied with free martial arts classes.
Anthony Triglia teaches Shorinji Kempo Martial Arts in Downtown Salisbury.
Triglia says there are many people in the community who want to learn about self-defense, but they simply cannot afford to pay for classes.
He says his classes help people who get pushed around and he teaches them important life skills like discipline and teamwork.
Triglia adds students not only get to learn interesting techniques, but they also make new friendships along the way.
“In here, it’s not about, it is about making yourself good, but it’s about helping each other and I mean everybody helps,” said Triglia, “The hire rank helps the lower rank and when somebody gets ready to take a test, everybody kind of works on techniques with him.”
“So, it’s like a family,” said Triglia.
Triglia hosts his free classes on Wednesday nights from 6 to 9. If you’re interested in taking these classes contact Triglia at 443-235-3577.
