HALO in desperate need of men volunteers for men’s shelter
SALISBURY, Md. – The nonprofit HALO says the number of homeless men sleeping at their shelter is growing. So, they are desperately asking for more men to volunteer and help out.
The Executive Director of HALO Celeste Savage says right now they are on track to having more homeless men sleep at their men’s shelter this year than last year.
Savage says right now they have 13 men volunteers, but they are looking to double that number.
She says the situation has forced them to plan for their first-ever male shelter training on February 11 to get the help they so desperately need.
“This is pretty huge and we desperately need to have the men to come on board as we continue to increase in the number of men coming into the shelter,” said Savage.
“I’ve got to have guys that can come on board,” said Savage.
For those who are interested in volunteering, they are encouraged to contact the nonprofit at 410-742-9356. For more information, they can also visit the nonprofit’s website, by clicking here.
