Grotto Pizza may soon be coming to Millsboro

MILLSBORO, Del. – A popular restaurant could soon be coming to Millsboro.

Grotto Pizza just recently got approval from the town to move forward with plans to open, possibly this year.

According to town officials, the restaurant and sports bar would open between a Royal Farms and a Taco Bell on Route 113.

They say the company will now seek state agency approvals.

The Millsboro Town Manager, Sheldon Hudson, says this move is a result of residents asking for more options to eat on a town survey, from two years ago.

Hudson says he believes that more restaurants like Grotto Pizza will help improve quality of life for area residents.

“The town wants to see an enhanced quality of life for its residents, for its business owners, property owners and its visitors, and I think the more that you can offer in a way of sit down restaurants and retail, all of the sudden now people don’t have to leave Millsboro as often to shop and to eat,” said Hudson.

“They can stay right in town,” said Hudson.

The town manager says there is still one other site in that same area that they are looking to fill.
