Fundraiser event benefits critically ill children
OCEAN CITY, Md. – In Ocean City, people from across the community came out to support critically ill children.
The event took place at the Residence Inn by Marriott.
People got the chance to vote on their favorite mac and cheese from several local businesses competing against each other.
They also got to enjoy live music.
Money collected today will go towards the Believe in Tomorrow Children’s House by the Sea, a center that provides all sorts of services to critically ill children and their families.
Organizers say events like this help the nonprofit Believe in Tomorrow thrive.
“We never close the door,” said program coordinator Wayne Littleton.
“All three of our facilities, six units are open every day of the year, and we have a family in this weekend at our military house, so unfortunately, the bills never stop and so all that money raised from this will go to run our daily program,” said Littleton.
We are told there will be several events throughout the year to support the nonproft. Organizers say many of these fundraisers help generate thousands of dollars.
