Fatal crash in Virginia leaves one dead

HORNTOWN, Va.– Virginia State Police were called to investigate a car crash that left one person dead Saturday morning.

Police said the accident happened at 5106 Fleming Rd. in Accomack County.

Isaiah D. Townsend, 20-years-old of Horntown, VA, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt northbound on Fleming Rd., when he crossed the center line and hit a 2014 Dodge Ram driving in the southbound lanes.

Police said Townsend was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Officials said that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

At this time, police have notified family members of the crash.
