Domestic dispute leads to robbery, other related charges for Ellendale man
HARRINGTON, Del. – Harrington Police have arrested an Ellendale man who was wanted in connection to a domestic dispute that took place last month.
According to police, last month patrol officers were called to Diamond Court Apartments for a reported domestic dispute. On arrival, police found the adult female victim suffering from facial injuries, and through further investigation learned that the victim’s ex-boyfriend, 26-year-old Taquen Owens, showed up and forced entry into the victim’s residence by damaging a door. Owens then reportedly assaulted the victim and took her car keys before fleeing in her vehicle.
It was also learned that there was a no-contact order in place that prohibited Owens from contacting the victim.
Warrants were obtained for Owens, who was taken into custody during a traffic stop Tuesday evening. He was charged with second degree robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, offensive touching, criminal mischief under $1,000, and breach of release. He was held at SCI on $11,700 cash only bond.
