Delmarva Railroad Club hosts 34th Annual Open House

DELMAR, Md. – The Delmarva Model Railroad Club in Delmar is getting ready to wrap up their 34th Annual Open House for train enthusiasts across the region.

The event is a chance for people to enjoy more than 8,000 square feet of train layouts, all created by groups of volunteers.

The displays include mountains and miniature figures that represent different areas all across the country.

Visitors tell 47ABC this is one of the larger train displays in the region for the holiday season. Meanwhile, members of the club say volunteers have added more unique features onto their train displays for everyone to enjoy.

“It brings people together in a fun way and it’s certainly harmless, it doesn’t invoke any anger,” said Linda Long, a member of the Delmarva Railroad Club.

“People come in and their happy and it’s just a happy place,” said Long.

This event is free of charge.

For those who are interested in visiting the train displays, the Delmarva Model Railroad Club will be hosting their final open house this upcoming weekend.
