Delaware State Police investigating fatal pedestrian crash

FENWICK ISlAND, Del. — The Delaware State Police are investigating a car crash that killed a pedestrian in Fenwick Island early Wednesday morning.

Police say just before 3:30 AM, a 23-year -old male, of Georgetown, was driving a 2016 Jeep Patriot southbound on Coastal Highway.

Reports then say the driver didn’t see the pedestrian walking in the right lane, when he suddenly struck the him.

We’re told The 44-year-old male victim, of Ocean City, was apparently wearing dark clothing and not using a light.

The driver sustained minor injuries, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.

Coastal highway remained closed for 3 and a half hours.

The crash remains under investigation
