Decatur sweeps Snow Hill on the season with big road win

SNOW HILL, Md.- After winning their last two games, the Stephen Decatur Seahawks took down Snow Hill 57-43 to move to 6-5 on the season. The loss drops the Eagles to 4-8.

It started out close, the teams tied at nine with three minutes to play in the first quarter. The Eagles took a 14-9 lead but the Seahawks erased the deficit as time wound down in the quarter, Theo Hobbs drilled a buzzer beating lay up to tie us up at 14 to end the quarter. It was the same narrative in the second, the teams going blow for blow but the boys form Berlin took the one point lead, 25-24 lead at the half. Drew Hauisen (Decatur) and Shi’Quan Williams (Snow Hill) led their teams with ten points each.

To start the second half, the Eagles took a three point lead just a minute in. After a Decatur time out, the Seahawks exploded and turned that three point deficit into a eight point lead, then a fifteen point lead to end the third quarter. Hauisen put up eight in the third, Decameron Mcafee added seven in the third. Snow Hill was able to cut the lead to eight but was never able to recover as they drop to 2-3 at home this season with the 57-43 loss to Stephen Decatur.

The Seahawks return to action on Thursday when they host Washington, the Eagles look to get back in the win column when they travel to WiHi to take on the Indians also on Thursday.
