Custis scores 38 as Sussex Tech downs Bennett
GEORGETOWN, Del. – The Bennett Clippers headed to Georgetown to take on the Ravens of Sussex Tech.
Both teams, coming into this game off of a win by 1 point followed up by a home loss, were looking to get back on track.
The Ravens shot out of the gate hot, nailing threes from all over the court early and often.
The second quarter was a little closer as Sussex Tech led in scoring by just 1 point, 20-19.
In the second half, Sussex Tech continued to dominate from outside the ring, led by Kevin Custis, who knocked down 6 of his own for a total of 38.
Sussex Tech’s Coach Damon Ayers told 47 ABC after the game, his team’s key to the game was “to apply pressure to their defense.”
“It’s tough to play 3 games in a week in high school, so we had to take advantage of that and play with some energy,” said Ayers.
“We’re in the middle of the season now, so we need to just play our best basketball from here on out.”
