Annual campaign collects 1,200 coats for charity

SEAFORD, Del. – 47 ABC wants to thank the community for making our annual Coat Drive a massive success, once again.

About 12-hundred coats were collected over a three week period. It was all made possible through our partnership with Peninsula Dry Cleaners and Hardees of Delmarva. Peninsula Dry Cleaners repaired and cleaned all the coats so they’d be ready to wear. They also credited the generosity of everyone on the Delmarva as to why the drive was so successful.

“I think they appreciate giving something to the needy. Anytime you would ask them for something for the needy, not just us, but all over the Eastern Shore they respond right away,” says Joe Mangone, the owner of Peninsula Dry Cleaners.

Mangone says he’s proud to help a cause like this so he can give back to the community that has supported his business for 30 years. The coats will be distributed to local charities here on Delmarva.
