Work to widen US 113 is almost complete

SNOW HILL, Md. – Work to widen US 113 is almost complete.

We’re told the road should be completely open to drivers by the end of the year.

Crews have been working to dualize the road for years now. That means they have been working to make the road four lanes wide, instead of two lanes.

The road is 38 miles long and at this point, 34 miles of the road have been completed. That means crews only have four miles left to go.

Bob Rager, a Spokesperson for Maryland State Highway Administration said, “We are actually paving right now as weather permits. We are trying to get all four lanes open by the end of this year. We’re still going to be out there, working into the spring, but our goal right now is to get all four lanes open to traffic by the end of this year.”

Once the paving is done, crews will still have to go back and do some landscaping work.
