Wilmington woman arrested on charges stemming from domestic assault

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Wilmington woman in connection to a domestic related assault that happened earlier this week.

According to police, the incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, on County Seat Highway west of Georgetown. It was learned that the suspect, 47-year-old Tammy White, and her boyfriend were traveling in a vehicle when they got into a verbal altercation. White allegedly began punching her boyfriend while he was driving, causing him to nearly crash their vehicle. When he continued to drive, White reportedly continued punching him and stabbed him in the neck with a pen.

The victim stopped the vehicle and was able to make contact with another driver to call 9-1-1. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

A search of the vehicle revealed that White had prescription drugs without the proper prescription, as well as drug paraphernalia.

White was arrested and charged with second degree assault, first degree reckless endangering, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of prescription drugs without a prescription. She is currently being held at SCI on $1,100 secured bail.
