Salisbury family gives back through music
BERLIN, Md. – In Berlin, one dad and his two kids have set out on a mission to help people in need across the shore through music.
The trio, from Salisbury, are passionate about music.
Together, they have created their own song called All of Us on Christmas with hopes of collecting enough money in sales from the song, to help the Church Mouse Thrift Shop in Berlin thrive.
“I became friends with Helen and Mike who help run the place and saw what they do and how tireless they are and how much they gave to the community and we didn’t have a lot of money or time to do any of that, but we thought we could make a song and hopefully raise a little money and give it back to them,” said Josh Davis, the father.
The band called, Paper Scissors, says they will be donating all proceeds made from the song to the decades-old thrift shop, run by Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, which is a beacon of hope for many people on the shore.
“They feed the homeless, support suicide prevention and they want to help a lot of people,” said 10-year-old Robert Davis.
On top of that, the thrift shop supports various organizations like Believe In Tomorrow, as well as Habitat for Humanity.
So, any help is needed.
“We depend on the support from the families and other customers that come into the shop for us to be able to reach our mission,” said Helen Wiley, coordinator at the Church Mouse Thrift Shop.
Now the family is calling out, asking you, for support.
“The Church Mouse is an amazing thing, so go donate, go buy that Christmas song, so we can help make this world a better place,” said Robert.
The family’s song, All of Us on Christmas, is available for $2.99 on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, YouTube and Google Play.
