POLICE: Homeless man charged with assault

WEST OCEAN CITY, Md. – A homeless man has been arrested and charged after beating another man so bad– he remains in critical condition. Maryland state police say they responded to an apartment on Golf Course Road Thursday afternoon where they found a man unconscious. That man was identified as 58-year-old George Stinnet, who was then flown by helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma. an investigation revealed the suspect, 48-year-old Eric Jarrett, assaulted Stinnet in the apartment on Wednesday. Someone called the police when Stinnet wasn’t responding to someone trying to wake him up. Jarrett, who is also homeless, is charged with first and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. A motive for the attack hasn’t been found– an investigation continues with a chance for more charges to come.
