Over 15,000 chickens lost in Caroline County chicken house fire
FEDERALSBURG, Md. – Officials say nearly 16,000 chickens died in a chicken house fire Friday morning in Federalsburg.
We’re told the fire broke out at around 10:30 a.m., in a chicken house at 3640 Pepper Road. The two alarm fire took approximately one and a half hours to extinguish.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire damage has been estimated at $200,000, and we’re that that approximately 15,800 chickens died in the fire.
