Multiple people arrested following drug investigation

SELBYVILLE, Del. – Delaware State Police say numerous suspects have been arrested in connection to a drug investigation.

On Thursday, police say they wrapped up a three month long investigation involving 30-year-old Janie Handy and 56-year-old Herbert Handy, regarding the sale of illegal drugs at a residence on Polly Branch Road in Selbyville.

The investigation also resulted in multiple vehicle stops, with the seizure of heroin and drug paraphernalia. The first traffic stop took place on November 26, resulting in the seizure of approximately 19 bags of heroin and drug paraphernalia. During this stop, 41-year-old Elizabeth Meekins, 51-year-old Wendy Scott, and 25-year-old Thomas Peacock were arrested on various drug charges and all released on their own recognizance.

On Thursday, another traffic stop resulted in the seizure of approximately 40 bags of heroin and drug paraphernalia. During this stop, 68-year-old Kathleen Tamalavicz and 57-year-old Carl Fadely III were arrested on drug charges and released on unsecured bonds.

A search and seizure warrant was executed at the residence on Polly Branch Road on Thursday. Police found numerous firearms, as well as drugs, during the search. Janie Handy was also found to be in possession of more than $530 in suspected drug money. Janie Handy was released on an unsecured bond, while Herbert Handy was held at SCI on $10,000 secured bond.
