LEWES, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Lewes man last weekend on burglary and other related charges.

We’re told that on Sunday, police responded to a residence in the unit block of Plymouth Court, Rolling Meadows, for a reported burglary. It was learned that while a 62-year-old resident was away on a trip, someone had entered her residence and stole several pieces of jewelry and cash.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect, 34-year-old Matthew Long, was an acquaintance of the victim’s. Long reportedly entered through an unlocked rear door and stole approximately $7,000 worth of jewelry and cash before leaving the residence.
