Late run pushes Smyrna over the top against Whitman

SALISBURY, Md. – Smyrna won their opening game of the 2019 Governors Challenge against Whitman, 56-40, advancing to their bracket championship against Marshall, out of Virginia.

Nahshon Sylvester led the Eagles in scoring, with 14. Izaiah Credle, 10, and Brandon Smith, 12, were the other top scorers for Smyrna.

Whitman kept the Eagle lead to single digits for most of the game, but a 14-5 fourth quarter run sealed the Smyrna victory.
